Founding Engineer

Full-time or Part-time, Palo Alto, CA or Remote 

About this Position:

​

As a key member of the founding team, the founding engineer will be responsible for building version 2.0 of the full-stack architecture with the development team.

 

Ideal candidates are:

  • Passionate about helping people live happier, more fulfilling, and more meaningful lives with a science-based approach. 

  • Experienced in building and launching products. Having experience in social media, digital healthcare, edTech, or other related spaces is preferred.

  • Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment. 

  • Committed to the highest research and production standards.

 

Technical Skills:

  • 2+ years of work experience and has made meaningful contributions to large-scale feature launches

  • Have developed and shipped consumer or business-facing products (web and/or mobile app), ideally from scratch

  • Experience in building web and/or cross-platform mobile apps is preferred

  • Experienced in implementing and managing large-scale software systems or IT infrastructure

  • Experience in implementing recommendation systems & NLP systems is preferred

Position Details:

  • Remote or in person (all members are in SF bay area and sometimes meet in person)

  • Full-time preferred, but part-time is also possible

  • Legally able to work in the US 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, preferred

  1. Position timeline: Ready to commit full-time by 2023 Q2, ideally sooner. Your availability is a key factor in our decision.

  2. Application process: Candidates who meet the basic qualifications will be invited to an initial conversation with one of the co-founders via video conference or in person (near Stanford campus), which will include questions about the candidate's experience, qualifications, and expectations. Candidates who pass the initial screening will be invited to meet with multiple members of our founding team and answer technical and behavioral questions. We will conduct reference checks to verify the candidate's work history and experience.

  3. Immigration status: If you are not U.S. citizens or permanent resident and need visa sponsorship, we may be able to sponsor O1 visas if you meet the criteria, but we may not be able to sponsor H1B visas at the current stage.
